    MDOT Partners with City of Ocean Springs for Urban Youth Corps Program   5/2/2016

    Ocean Springs, Miss. – The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the City of Ocean Springs recently announced that Ocean Springs will provide job opportunities in transportation-related settings to individuals between the ages of 16 and 25 as part of the 2016 Urban Youth Corps Program.

    Earth Day Celebration and Activities Set for Ocean Springs   4/19/2016

    A community-wide celebration and picnic in recognition of Earth Day are scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Little Children’s Park on the corner of Washington Avenue and Calhoun Street.

    Ocean Springs Mayor’s Youth Council Accepting Applications   4/19/2016

    Ocean Springs, Miss.– The City of Ocean Springs Mayor’s Youth Council is now accepting applications for their 2016-2017 school year. Juniors and seniors with an interest in government and building leadership skills may pick-up an application at Ocean Springs High School Career Center located at 6701 Old Spanish Trail or City Hall located at 1018 Porter Avenue. Applications are also available to students who attend St. Patrick Catholic High School but live in the City. Deadline for applications is May 6, 2016.

    Ocean Springs to Replace Drainage Pipe on Government Street   4/13/2016

    The City of Ocean Springs will begin to replace a 60” drainage pipe along Government Street on Monday, April 11, 2016. The south lane Government Street between Clark Avenue and Pine Drive will be closed to traffic. This project will take approximately 4 weeks.

    American Legion Post 42 to Dedicate Pershing Square   4/6/2016

    The Emile Ladnier American Legion Post 42 of Ocean Springs will dedicate Pershing Square on Saturday, April 9 at 10:00 a.m. Pershing Square will surround the World War 1 Emile Ladnier Monument in front of The Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center located at 1600 Government Street.

    City of Ocean Springs Continues to Improve Lighting throughout the City   3/24/2016

    At their meeting on March 15, the Board of Aldermen voted to accept Mississippi Power’s Lighting Proposal for various streets in the City. The upgraded outdoor LED lighting will provide a clean, uniform, white colored light for city streets.

    Ocean Springs Small Craft Harbor Now Open   3/23/2016

    Ocean Springs, MS — The Ocean Springs Small Craft Harbor boat launch is open for recreational use. Motorists, pedestrians and cyclists are encouraged to continue to use caution in this area, as elements of the project are still underway. Please respect any barricades and traffic control devices around the harbor area, including the Harbor Master’s House.
