Youth Council Sponsors Free Event for Teens and Families
Ocean Springs, MS – An afternoon of live entertainment and motivational speakers is being offered to area teens and their families on Saturday, March 28, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Arts Center, 1600 Government Street in Ocean Springs.
Hosted by the Mayor’s Youth Council, the Triple Threat Jump-Off! is the brain child of six council members who wanted to address the state’s high teen pregnancy rate by offering healthy choices of entertainment for teens in the community. Triple Threat, teens teaching teens, is also offering mentoring services to 8th grade female students at Ocean Springs Middle School, under the direction of the school’s guidance department.
The Saturday afternoon event features motivational speakers, a professional mime, the Abundant Life Evangelistic Center Choir, and the Macedonia Church dancers. Special guests include Mayor Connie Moran and WLOX reporter, Crystal Allen.
Following the presentation, complimentary refreshments will be served in the lobby of the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Arts Center.
