OSPD Issues Traffic and Parking Advisories to Ease Congestion for July 4
Ocean Springs, MS – Following the June 25 decision by the City of Ocean Springs Board of Aldermen, parking for July 4 along East Beach will be along the sea wall facing easterly. One way traffic will be enforced from Shearwater Drive to Halstead Road beginning at 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. on July 4 only.
Traffic travelling south on Halstead Road will be detoured onto Brumbaugh Road. Only residents of that street will be allowed to drive south on Braumbaugh Road. In addition, bon fires will not be permitted on either Front Beach or East Beach during the Fourth of July.
The Board of Aldermen also approved the posting of beach rules on East Beach. These rules are consistent with those found on Front Beach.
The posted rules on Front Beach are:

- Park with the flow of traffic.
- After hours parking for fishing (Permit required). Designated areas only.
- Bon fires (permit required) designated areas only.

- No commercial vendors without permits.
- One way traffic from Friday midnight through Sunday midnight.* Front Beach Drive is a one-way road from midnight Friday to midnight Sunday from Porter Avenue to Jackson Avenue.
