OS Water, Sewage Expansion Groundbreaking Set for March 10
Ocean Springs, MS – Citizens are invited to join state and local officials in a groundbreaking ceremony for the east Ocean Springs water, sewage expansion project on March 10, 3:30 p.m., at 4505 Bienville Blvd. Special guest for the event is Ms. Trudy Fisher, Executive Director of MS DEQ.
Parking for the event will be at the former Salvetti Brothers Restaurant, 4505 Bienville Blvd. The ceremony will take place at the parcel to the east of the former restaurant, Mangum One LLC.
The $4 million plus project was funded by the MS DEQ in partnership with Community Development Block Grant to develop water and sewage expansion for areas of Highway 90 to MS 57, portion of MS 57 and Ocean Springs Road. It incurred over a year of negotiations with property owners who gave a 20 ft. permanent utility easement in exchange for water and sewage taps.
The City of Ocean Springs Public Works Department and Compton Engineering have been in active planning stages for two years on the project.
