OS Begins Mardi Gras Season with Elks Parade on January 30
Ocean Springs, MS – On January 30, at approximately 1 p.m. the Ocean Springs Elks Parade will roll in the Mardi Gras season in Ocean Springs. Staging for the parade begins at 9 a.m. at Jackson Avenue and Front Beach Drive. Streets in the designated parade route will officially close as 12/noon.
The designated route for the parade begins at Front Beach Drive, north on Porter Avenue to Washington Avenue, north on Washington Avenue to Government Street. Next, the parade will travel east on Government Street to Holcomb, travel south on Holcomb, and end at Ocean Springs High School parking lot.
Ocean Springs Police Department, Traffic Division would like to remind citizens to follow pedestrian and traffic safety. Parking is not allowed on the parade route nor in front of the Judges Stand on Porter Avenue. OSPD urges citizens to obey temporary parking signs and to only park on private property with the written permission of the property owner.
