OS Begins City-Wide Sidewalk Improvements

Ocean Springs, MS – New and improved sidewalks and street panels are currently in construction throughout the City of Ocean Springs.  Funded through the City of Ocean Springs Public Works Department, construction crews have begun improvement projects on 12 streets in the city.

Sidewalk and/or street panel replacements are being completed on the following streets:  Jackson Avenue, Bellande Avenue, Washington Avenue, Walnut at Halstead, King Henry Street, Penny Court, Government Street at Broome’s II, Government Street at Sweet Grass Subdivision, east entrance of Maurepas Landing, Pine Hills Road, Woodlands Subdivision off CCC Camp Road, and San Souci at Water’s Edge.

The sidewalk improvement project is under the direction of Tom Jones, Supervisor of Maintenance with the Public Works Department.  At this time, additional areas in the city are being identified for sidewalk and street panel improvements.

The City has contracted with O’Brian Construction of Gulfport.  Work is expected to be completed in mid-October.
