Groundbreaking Ceremony for Public Safety Facility Set for May 27

Ocean Springs, MS – The public is invited to join state and city officials in a groundbreaking ceremony for the Public Safety Facility on Wednesday, May 27, at 2 p.m. at the facility site adjacent to the Ocean Springs Civic Center, 3730 Bienville Boulevard.  Parking for the event is available to the rear of the Civic Center.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be followed by site preparation for the facility designed by Bolton Lack Furr, PLLC.  The city’s first Public Safety Facility will encompass two complexes incorporating 38,500 square feet.  The facility includes a police station, jail and court complex, fire station and emergency operations center.  Funding for the Public Safety Facility was provided by a Community Development Block Grant, Katrina Community Revitalization Grant through the MS Development Authority and the 2% tax levy on food and beverage.
