County and City Partner for C. Broome Road Project

Ocean Springs, MS – The City of Ocean Springs and Jackson County Road Management have partnered to create a new access road to Clay Boyd Spray Park – Curmis Broome Drive.  The new road was named for the beloved community leader, Curmis Broome, Sr.  The Broome family donated the right of way for the new road.

“There is a strong partnership between the county and the city.  We enjoyed the joint effort to support the citizens of Jackson County.  We thank the Broome family for donation of the right of way for enhancement to our community,” said Butch Loper, Jackson County Assistant Road Manager.

Jackson County Road Management performed the base work for the project, including subgrade work, cutting ditches and laying culverts.  The City of Ocean Springs provided project funding, with the Public Works Department relocating water lines in the initial stages of the project.
