“Ocean Springs is proud of the appearance of our city, and this committee will assist us with plans and policies to ensure we put our best foot forward city-wide,” said Mayor Connie Moran.

“Serving on the committee allows me the opportunity to further what Mayor Moran and the Board of Aldermen have done for Ocean Springs, such as the street sweeper purchase which improved our roads and contributes to community pride,” said David LaPointe, committee member.  Ocean Springs is the gem of the Gulf Coast.  We want to continue to make it a better and more beautiful place to live.”

Current items of discussion for the Beautification Committee include: landscape projects for the coming year, public art displays, tree maintenance, and a lot clearing process for abandoned homes, slabs, and unkempt properties.  Committee member Marty Waggoner noted that establishing a process for lot clearing allows “neighborhoods and residents to move forward.”
