City of Ocean Springs Closes Front and East Beaches
Ocean Springs, MS – Effective immediately, Front and East Beaches in Ocean Springs are closed to the public due to light oil impact sighted at these locations beginning Sunday, June 27. However, the popular concrete walking path on Front Beach is open for public use. City officials closed the beaches following a recommendation from MDEQ and the Beach Monitoring Task Force that the public avoid contact with oil-related materials.
U.S. Environmental Services has been notified and authorized clean-up teams will be deployed to clean the area.
