City of Ocean Springs and School District Partner with Beau Rivage for Food Drive

Ocean Springs, MS – In an effort to restock the food pantry at Lord is My Help following the Thanksgiving holidays, the City of Ocean Springs, Ocean Springs School District and the Beau Rivage Casino have partnered for a city-wide food drive from now until December 18.  Liz Buchanan, Office Manager for Maintenance and Transportation in the Ocean Springs School District, organized the effort.

Citizens interested in participating in the food drive can drop off canned goods at the Ocean Springs School District Transportation Building, 1005 Hanley Road, between the hours of 7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The Beau Rivage Casino has donated 48 turkeys, in addition to bulk items such as rice and beans.

“We are pleased to be a partner with the city and school district of Ocean Springs in this food drive,” said Mike Davis, Assistant Director of Convention Sales.   “We have participated in past food drives in the city and are pleased to play an active part in the community.”

“When Liz told me about the food drive I reached out to my friend Mike Davis at the Beau Rivage,” stated Alderman Jerry Dalgo.  “Mike and his staff are always willing to help the citizens of Ocean Springs.  Although the drive will continue until the 18th, they have already donated turkeys which were delivered today.  This partnership between the city, school district, and the Beau Rivage Casino will bless the lives of so many unfortunate people and it represents what community support is all about.
