MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN
CITY OF OCEAN SPRINGS
SPECIAL CALL MEETING SEPTEMBER 3, 2008
Be it remembered that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs met in a Special Call Meeting at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs at 5:00 p.m. on September 3, 2008. Mayor Moran presiding, Aldermen Gill, McDonnell, Lloyd, Weaver, Denyer, Dalgo and Hagan were present. Also present was City Clerk Shelly Ferguson.
The Mayor called the meeting to order.
The Special Call Meeting is for the purpose of any and all matters pertaining to FY 08-09 proposed budget.
Motion was made by Alderman Lloyd, seconded by Alderman Weaver and unanimously carried to reduce Partners in Progress budget from $27,000.00 to $21,600.00.
Motion was made by Alderman Weaver, seconded by Alderman Dalgo and unanimously carried to remove budget for Public Art Project and authorize allocation to St. Vincent de Paul in the amount of $2,000.00
Motion was made by Alderman Lloyd to reduce the Aldermen’s Capital Improvement budget to $5,000.00 with no carry over. Motion dies for lack of second.
Motion was made by Alderman Weaver and seconded by Alderman Dalgo and unanimously carried to reduce the Aldermen’s Capital Improvement accounts to $16,000.00 with a carry over. Motion carried with Aldermen Gill, McDonnell, Weaver, Dalgo and Denyer voting aye and Aldermen Hagan and Lloyd voting nay.
The Board agreed to make no further individual motions and adopt the proposed budget as a whole when agreed upon.
Alderman Denyer left the meeting.
Motion was made by Alderman Weaver, seconded by Alderman Hagan and unanimously approved to accept the proposed budget for a public hearing.
Motion was made by Alderman Weaver, seconded by Alderman Hagan and unanimously carried to adjourn the special call meeting.
