MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN
CITY OF OCEAN SPRINGS
SPECIAL CALL MEETING NOVEMBER 1, 2006
Be it remembered that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs met in a Special Call Meeting at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs at 6:00 p.m. on November 1, 2006. Mayor Moran presiding, Aldermen Gill, McDonnell, Lloyd, Weaver, Denyer, Dalgo and Hagan were present. Also present was City Clerk Adrienne Howell and City Attorney John Edwards.
Mayor Moran called the meeting to order.
The Special Call Meeting is for the purpose of any and all matters pertaining to record the Mayor’s veto of October 24, 2006 regarding the demolition permit for Del Castle, override the Mayor’s veto of the demolition permit for Del Castle, authorize submission of grant for Boat Infrastructure Program to the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources and an Executive Session regarding personnel issues in the Human Resources Department and Concerned Citizens litigation.
Motion was made by Alderman Gill, seconded by Alderman Dalgo and unanimously carried to record the Mayor’s veto of October 24,2006 of the issue of a demolition permit for Del Castle (Exhibit 1).
The Mayor said she would like to pull item two to override the veto of the demolition permit for Del Castle and withdraw her veto. The motion for the issue of the demolition permit will stand.
Motion was made by Alderman Hagan, seconded by Alderman Weaver and unanimously carried to authorize the submission of a grant for a Boat Infrastructure Program to the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Motion was made by Alderman Lloyd, seconded by Alderman Hagan and unanimously carried to go into closed session to determine the necessity of going into executive session.
The City Clerk returned to the meeting and announced that a motion was made by Alderman Hagan, seconded by Alderman Lloyd and unanimously carried to remain in executive session to discuss personnel issues in the Human Resources Department and the Concerned Citizens litigation.
Motion was made by Alderman Lloyd, seconded by Alderman McDonnell and unanimously carried to come out of executive session and return to regular session.
Motion was made by Alderman McDonnell, seconded by Alderman Hagan and unanimously carried to retain John Edwards and his law firm, Dogan & Wilkinson, to answer the complaint filed by the Concerned Citizens.
Motion was made by Alderman Lloyd, seconded by Alderman Hagan and unanimously carried to adjourn the special call meeting.
