MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN
CITY OF OCEAN SPRINGS
SPECIAL CALL MEETING MAY 14, 2010
Be it remembered that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs met in a Special Call meeting at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs at 4:00 p.m. on May 14, 2010. Mayor Moran presiding, Aldermen Gill, McDonnell, Cody and Hagan were present. Also present were City Attorney John Edwards and Deputy City Clerks Patty Gaston and Karen Kennedy. Aldermen Ross, Denyer and Dalgo were absent.
The Mayor called the meeting to order.
The Special Call Meeting is for the purpose of any and all matters pertaining to Drainage and Infrastructure Committee Report and Oil Spill in the Gulf.
The Mayor presented a report of the pipe line segments videoed by CES throughout the City. Motion was made by Alderman Hagan, seconded by Alderman McDonnell and unanimously carried to authorize to advertise for bids for sliplining per foot to include mobilization costs.
The Mayor asked the Board to review the draft Contingency Plan related to the oil spill to utilize the $25 million given to the state by BP to address costs incurred as a result of the Deepwater Horizon disaster. Motion was made by Alderman Gill, seconded by Alderman Cody and unanimously carried to approve the contingency Plan for submission to DMR to access BP Deepwater Horizon Block Grant funds pending City Attorney review.
Motion was made by Alderman Cody, seconded by Alderman McDonnell and unanimously carried to authorize the City Attorney to review the various Contracts in connection with the oil spill for presentation at the Board Meeting on May 18, 2010.
Motion was made by Alderman Cody, seconded by Alderman Hagan and unanimously carried to adjourn the special call meeting.
