MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN
CITY OF OCEAN SPRINGS
SPECIAL CALL MEETING JUNE 29, 2007
Be it remembered that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs met in a Special Call Meeting at the Civic Center in the City of Ocean Springs at 6:30 p.m. on June 29, 2007. Mayor Moran presiding, Aldermen Lloyd, Weaver, Dalgo, Denyer and Hagan were present. Aldermen Gill and McDonnell were absent. Also present was Deputy City Clerk Mindy McDowell.
The Mayor called the meeting to order.
The Special Call Meeting is for the purpose of any and all matters pertaining to discuss and approve DMR Tidelands grants applications to be considered by the legislature in the 2008 session and discuss two quotes for a barge and tugboat provider in order to launch the fireworks display near Front Beach on July 4th.
Motion was made by Alderman Dalgo and seconded by Alderman Hagan to accept the quote from Matthews Marine in the amount of $8,000.00 for the barge and tugboat to launch the fireworks display near Front Beach on July 4th. Motion carried with Aldermen Weaver, Dalgo, Denyer and Hagan voting aye and Alderman Lloyd voting nay.
Motion was made by Alderman Denyer and seconded by Alderman Lloyd to apply for DMR Tidelands grants applications to be considered by the legislature in the 2008 session in the following order: 1) Ocean Springs Old Fort Bayou Blue Ways Access, 2) Ocean Springs Davis Bayou Drainage Basin, 3) Concrete Bike and Walkway south of Front Beach Seawall and 4) removal of dilapidated pilings. Motion carried with Aldermen Lloyd, Weaver, Dalgo and Denyer voting aye and Alderman Hagan voting nay.
Motion was made by Alderman Denyer, seconded by Alderman Hagan and unanimously carried to include in the DMR Tideland grants applications the request for two parcels of land which are the Fayard property and any part of Plummer Point.
Motion was made by Alderman Hagan, seconded by Alderman Lloyd and unanimously carried to adjourn the special call meeting.
