MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN
CITY OF OCEAN SPRINGS
SPECIAL CALL MEETING AUGUST 31, 2008
Be it remembered that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs met in a Special Call Meeting at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs at 1:00 p.m. on August 31, 2008. Mayor Moran presiding, Aldermen Gill, Lloyd, Weaver, Denyer, Dalgo and Hagan were present. Also present was City Clerk Shelly Ferguson. Alderman McDonnell was absent.
Mayor Moran called the meeting to order.
The Special Call Meeting is for the purpose of any and all matters pertaining to Hurricane Gustav.
Alderman McDonnell arrives at the meeting.
Motion was made by Alderman Denyer and seconded by Alderman Gill to impose a curfew beginning tonight at 10:00 p.m. until further notice. Motion carried with Alderman Gill, McDonnell, Lloyd and Denyer voting aye and Alderman Weaver, Dalgo and Hagan voting nay.
Motion was made by Alderman Weaver, seconded by Alderman Gill and unanimously carried to rescind the previous motion regarding the curfew.
Motion was made by Alderman Gill, seconded by Alderman Weaver and unanimously carried to impose a curfew beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2008, until 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, or follow Jackson County’s curfew order.
The Public Works Director advised that there was a problem with the fuel vendor and asked that fuel be distributed cautiously. Motion was made by Alderman Weaver, seconded by Alderman Lloyd and unanimously carried to distribute fuel for essential city business only.
Alderman Dalgo left the meeting.
Motion was made by Alderman Denyer, seconded by Alderman Hagan and unanimously carried to adjourn the special call meeting.
