About Mayor Moran
Connie M. Moran grew up in Ocean Springs and was elected Mayor of her hometown in June 2005. Previously, she was president of Moran Consultants, providing marketing and business development services. Ms. Moran has 15 years of experience in state and local government. She served three years as Director of Jackon County Economic Development until March 1999. For the five prior years, Ms. Moran served as Managing Director of the State of Mississipppi European Office in Frankfurt, Germany, recruiting new business and industry to the State on behalf of the Mississipi Development Authority.
Ms. Moran holds Masters’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Finance / Economics and International Commerce from Georgetown University in Washingon, D. C.. She conducted graduate research in Germany under a Fulbright Scholarship.
Ms. Moran is active in community volunteer and civic organizations and serves as board director for Jackson County United Way and Boys and Girls Clubs. She has also served on the Jackson County Port Authority Board of Commissioners and the Board of Trustees of the Walter Anderson Museum of Art.
Ms. Moran has an eleven year old daughter, Magdeleine.
