See below for basic information on tested positions. A scheduled test does NOT necessarily mean that we have a vacancy in that position.
Testing for Police Officer – The police officer test is given several times a year on a quarterly schedule, even if there are no vacant positions. If a position becomes vacant, we hire from the eligibility list of tested applicants. The written portion of the test is required even for certified officers. Testing for Corrections Officer, Dispatcher, Firefighter, and Clerical Positions – These tests are not scheduled at this time. Each of these tests is given about once a year, if there is a need. If a position becomes vacant, we hire from the eligibility lists of tested applicants. In order to receive information when a particular test is scheduled, submit your completed Employment Application to Human Resources; you will be notified if your test is scheduled within the year.
