    Ocean Springs, Miss. - The Ocean Springs Police Department held a ceremony this afternoon to celebrate the promotion of three officers. Lt. Vince Spiriti advances to the rank of Captain, Sgt. Ryan Lemaire to the rank of Lieutenant, and Detective Terry Hines to the rank of Sergeant.

    The event was attended by members of the OSPD, Ward Three Alderman Chic Cody, Reverend Mike Barnett of First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, and family members of the promoted officers. Chief Mark Dunston officiated the event, with Rev. Barnett providing the invocation.

    Capt. Spiriti is a veteran of 20+ years in law enforcement with OSPD and several other agencies. He previously served as a shift commander, professional standards officer, and accreditation manager for the OSPD. He will now be responsible for the uniform services division of the agency. Capt. Spiriti is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Staff and Command.

    Lt. Lemaire is a 16 year law enforcement veteran. He previously served as a shift sergeant, and prior to that as a member of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force. Lt. Lemaire will now be responsible as a shift commander in the patrol division. Lt. Lemaire holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice.

     

    Sgt. Hines has served in law enforcement for 14 years, not only with OSPD, but also with other coast agencies. Previously, Sgt. Hines was previously an investigator with the OSPD and will now be responsible as a sergeant in the investigations unit. Sgt. Hines holds a Master’s degree from the University of Louisville and is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute leadership and management program.
