    Minutes - November 30 , 2018 - 2:30 p.m. Special Call Meeting

    SPECIAL CALL MEETING NOVEMBER 30, 2018


    Be it remembered that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs met in a Special Call Meeting at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs at 2:30 p.m. on November 30, 2018.  Mayor Dobson presiding, Aldermen Cox, Gill, Authement, Bellman, and Blackman were present.  Aldermen Papania and Impey were absent.  Also present was Deputy City Clerk Vicky Hupe and City Attorney Kevin Melchi. 

    The Mayor called the meeting to order.

    The Special Call Meeting is for the purpose of any and all matters pertaining to authorize declaration of the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, VIN# 1G1ZF57539F155956,and 2007 Gem, G82, VIN # 5ASAG47487F045139, as surplus (of no value to the City); remove from City’s assets and dispose of (Exhibit-a); Authorize declaration of the list of Police Department miscellaneous equipment as surplus (of no value to the City), remove from City’s assets and dispose of (Exhibit-b); Authorize declaration of the list of Public Works Department miscellaneous equipment as surplus (of no value to the City), remove from the City’s assets and dispose of (Exhibit-c); Authorize declaration of the list of Parks & Leisure Services Department miscellaneous equipment ass surplus (of no value to the City), remove from City’s assets and dispose of (Exhibit-d); Adopt resolution to request assistance from Jackson County for drainage improvements at the north intersection of Hanley Road and Bienville Boulevard (Exhibit-e); Adopt resolution to accept mutual aid from Jackson County for improvement of land for dog park (Exhibit-f).

    Motion was made by Alderman Gill, seconded by Cox and unanimously carried to authorize declaration of the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, VIN# 1G1ZF57539F155956,and 2007 Gem, G82, VIN # 5ASAG47487F045139, as surplus (of no value to the City); remove from City’s assets and dispose of (Exhibit-a); Authorize declaration of the list of Police Department miscellaneous equipment as surplus (of no value to the City), remove from City’s assets and dispose of (Exhibit-b); Authorize declaration of the list of Public Works Department miscellaneous equipment as surplus (of no value to the City), remove from the City’s assets and dispose of (Exhibit-c); Authorize declaration of the list of Parks & Leisure Services Department miscellaneous equipment ass surplus (of no value to the City), remove from City’s assets and dispose of (Exhibit-d).

    Motion was made by Alderman Cox, seconded by Bellman and unanimously carried to adopt a resolution to request assistance from Jackson County for drainage improvements at the north intersection of Hanley Road and Bienville Boulevard (Exhibit-e).

    Motion was made by Alderman Cox, seconded by Blackman and unanimously carried to adopt a resolution to accept mutual aid from Jackson County for improvement of land for the dog park (Exhibit-f).

    Alderman Gill requested a resolution from the City Attorney to approve Jackson County grading the parking lot area for the dog park.

    Motion was made by Alderman Cox, seconded by Alderman Authement and unanimously carried to adjourn the Special Call meeting.

    The meeting ended at 2:36 p.m.
