Troy is a life-long resident of Ocean Springs. He graduated from the University of Mississippi and was commissioned in the MS Army National Guard. Troy served as Scout Platoon leader in Iraq for one year. Upon returning home he was promoted to Captain and took command of Delta Company.
While in Iraq Troy helped train the Iraqis and establish a new Iraqi government, Military and public safety departments. Troy worked to bring two warring factions together to discuss the direction of their country. Upon leaving Iraq the local government was in place and had conducted free and fair elections, had a military and public safety department in place that were able to govern the province of Najaf independently.
Troy and his wife Lauren have two children, Sophie and Joseph. They attend St. Alphonsus church. Troy works at Chevron in Pascagoula and Lauren teaches Spanish. Troy recently served as chairman of the Jackson County Republican Party.
