a)        Authorize waiver of rental fee of the Civic Center on December 8, 2009 for the Jackson County Civic Action Committee, Inc. for the Home Instead Senior Care Community Service Program Be a Santa to a Senior committee (Exhibit 7-a)

b)       Authorize Mayor to execute Memorandum of Understanding by and between Gulf Regional Planning Commission and City of Ocean Springs regarding Third-Party In-Kind contributions to match  Federal Transportation Planning funds for the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) (Exhibit 7-b)

c)        Authorize waiver of rental fee for Ocean Springs Civic Center on November 2, 2009, to Cable One Advertising in exchange for equal value of cable advertising to market city rental facilities to advertise the resources of the City (Exhibit 7-c)

d)       Authorize up to $180.00 from Mayor’s Capital Improvement Account for bronze plaque for the Seaman’s Memorial (Exhibit 7-d)

e)        Authorize up to $1000.00 from Mayor’s Capital Improvement Account to HOSA for the oral history project

f)         Approve Minutes: Recess Meeting September 15, 2009 (Exhibit 7-f)

g)       Approve Minutes: Special Call Meeting September 24, 2009 (Exhibit 7-g)

h)       Approve payment: Docket of Claims and spread upon the Minutes (Exhibit 7-h)

j)         Adopt Municipal Compliance Questionnaire and spread upon the minutes (Exhibit 7-j)

 

       Police Dept.:

k)        Approve Special Event Permits for 2009 Homecoming Parade on October 7, 2009 and Benefit walk for Sophia Mohler on October 17, 2009 (Exhibit 7-k)

l)         Authorize to amend the Special Event Permit for the Rotary 5-K Run for Art, Culture and Education to approve temporary permit for open containers on November 6, 2009, beginning 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (Exhibit 7-l)

       Fire Dept.:

m)      Authorize promotion of Battalion Chief Nate Wilson to Deputy Fire Chief, effective October 7, 2009, six-month probation and authorize beginning the process to fill the vacancies of Battalion Chief, Lieutenant and Firefighter (Exhibit 7-m)

n)       Authorize promotion of Firefighter Bruce Cox to Fire Lieutenant, effective October 7, 2009, and six-month probationary period (Exshibit 7-n)

       Human Resources/Risk Management:

o)       Adopt Communications Policy (Exhibit 7-o)

p)       Accept recommendation of Human Resources Committee to revise Leave Policies (Exhibit 7-p)

       City Engineer:

       Public Works:

q)       Authorize allocation to 2009 Fall Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day not to exceed $3,125.00 and authorize four (4) representatives to work the event on November 14, 2009, tentative date (Exhibit 7-q)

r)         Acknowledge near completion of $2.4 Million Water Meter Replacement Program (Exhibit 7-r)

s)        Authorize to advertise for bids for the repair and maintenance of the City’s four (4) water tanks (Exhibit 7-s)

t)         Authorize request to purchase necessary Public Works equipment approved in the FY09-10 budget (Exhibit 7-t)

       Community Development & Planning:

u)       Accept Tree Committee Report (Exhibit 7-u)

v)       Authorize demolition of structures located at 1117 Hellmers Lane and 1119 Hellmers Lane (Exhibit 7-v)       

        Parks & Leisure Services:

w)      Authorize to advertise Request for Proposals for Management Plan for Highway 57 Sports Complex (Exhibit 7-w)

x)        Authorize employment of Adam Schoendberger as Maintenance Worker, effective October 7, 2009, hourly rate $10.72, with a six-month probationary period and pending successful completion of all pre-employment requirements (Exhibit 7-x)

y)       Authorize to begin the process to fill the position of full-time Custodian at hourly rate of $9.50 (Exhibit 7-y)
