8. CONSENT AGENDA*
* Consent Agenda – All matters listed under Item 8, Consent Agenda, are considered to be routine by the Board of Aldermen and will be enacted by one motion. There will not be separate discussion of these items. If discussion is desired, that item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and will be considered separately.
Mayor:
a) Accept donation of $2,000.00 from HOSA to purchase trees (Exhibit 8-a)
b) Authorize the Mayor to execute Change Order #1 in the amount of $7,875.41 and an additional 3 days for Police Department/Court/Jail – Public Safety Center Project – foundation work funded by 2% Funds (Exhibit 8-b)
c) Authorize Mayor to execute Contract with Natural Capital Development to establish a hotline for oil reports, pending MS Department of Marine Resources and City Attorney approval (Exhibit 8-c)
d) Accept pledged contribution of $300,000.00 from the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources and $50,000.00 from Jackson County Board of Supervisors (via the JC Economic Development Foundation) towards the acquisition and replacement of the Pine Grove Water System and authorize the City Attorney and City Engineer to prepare the appropriate legal documents and bid specifications to proceed with the project pending legal review (Exhibit 8-d)
e) Accept permit from the Corps of Engineers to place 12,000 feet of ocean boom between East Deer Island and March Point and place on the minutes (Boom still needs to be funded by BP)
f) Authorize the Mayor to execute the Contract Amendment #1 with the joint venture of Bolton/Lack/Furr for the Public Safety Center pending legal approval (Exhibit 8-f)

h) Approve payment: Docket of Claims and spread upon the Minutes (Exhibit 8-h)

j) Ratify payment to JLC Landscaping, LLC in the amount of $4,512.50 for Halstead Tennis Court Project (Exhibit 8-j)

k) Accept receipt of a 2010 8.5×16 Cargo Craft Trailer purchased by the Ocean Springs Police Reserves with a donation from Delta Sanitation and add to City inventory (Exhibit 8-k)
l) Ratify Special Event Permits for July 1, 2010 Magnolia Music Center Store Sale; July 3, 2010 OS YMCA 2-Mile Run Walk Fundraiser and approve August 28, 2010 Bridge Walk and Canned Food Drive (Exhibit 8-l)
m) Accept resignation of Dispatcher Don Martin, effective June 28, 2010 and authorize beginning the process to fill the vacancy (Exhibit 8-m)
n) Accept resignation of Officer Nathen C. Howard, effective July 8, 2010 and authorize beginning the process to fill the vacancy (Exhibit 8-n)

o) Authorize to begin the process of promoting a Lieutenant to Battalion Chief and a Firefighter to Lieutenant (Exhibit 8-o)
