b) Approve Preliminary Design as Phase One of Ocean Springs Streetscape (Exhibit 3-b)
4. PUBLIC COMMENT: The public is invited to address the Board for up to 3 minutes. The Board will take all comments under advisement for potential action at a later date if warranted.

Mayor:
a) Authorize use of Ocean Springs Civic Center to host “Dancin’ to the Oldies” Dance Competition as a host city for the MS Gulf Coast Senior Games on April 22, 2009, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. ( Exhibit 5-a)
b) Authorize request to proceed in developing the Tommy Dreyfus Community Service Award and Scholarship sponsored by Mr. Barry Dreyfus, President and CEO of United States Marine, Inc. in honor of his late father (Exhibit 5-b)
c) Authorize request to expend $1,200.00 from the special projects budget to remove old floor boards from the Mary C. O’Keefe Culinary Arts Café room (Exhibit 5-c)
d) Authorize use of Ocean Springs Community Center for the 38th Annual Fine Art Show from October 22nd through November 16th (Exhibit 5-d)
e) Approve Change Order No. 1 for power pole conflict at Chester M. McPherson, Jr. Pier in the amount of $1,552.50 and amend the budget accordingly (Exhibit 5-e)

l) Authorize to declare Unit 42, 2000 Dodge Dakota, in water and sewer administrative department, as surplus, of no value to the city and sent to auction (Exhibit 5-l)
Police Dept.:
m) Accept resignation of Patrolman David Queal effective December 17, 2008, and authorize to fill the vacant patrolman position (Exhibit 5-m)
n) Authorize employment of Ronald Alexander as Patrolman, hourly rate $13.94, effective January 7, 2009, pending successful completion of all pre-employment requirements (Exhibit 5-n)
o) Authorize request to close Government Street from Washington Avenue to Russell on Saturday, May 16, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and authorize request to lift consumption of alcohol on city property for May Fest 2009 (Exhibit 5-o)
p) Authorize to award bid to DuraTech USA, Inc. in the amount of $85,000.00 for 20 Fully Rugged Notebook Computers for the Police Department funded by Department of Public Safety – Hurricane Relief Grant (Exhibit 5-p)

q) Authorize removal of Training Officer Anthony Johnson from probationary status and placed on full-time status, effective January 15, 2009 (Exhibit 5-q)
